the blue muse

It was a weekend of sunshine and socializing, warm days and perfect nights.

The Summer of Smiles is in full swing and it was nice
to spend time with friends I haven’t seen in a while.

I discovered three tiny baby sparrows in the dwarf alberta spruce,
too close to NaughtyKitten’s favorite haunt,
so I’m going to have to keep an eye on them.
At least I’ll try.

Morning tea in the garden has become routine once again
and there really is no better way to start a day.

Sunrise and birdsong as I sit in my own small oasis
of fern and flower, grass and tree, hidden from the world.

Grateful, sated, content just to be here.

Basking in the glow of life.

Remembering to pay attention.
