my bluebird of happiness
sits on a shelf
in plain sight
where i can see him
he gets a little dusty
sometimes
i forget to admire
the sky
that lives in his heart
but then
the sun will shine
right through him
and i remember.

“i forget to admire the sky that lives in his heart” – fabulous!
I have three little, glass bluebirds that sit on my bookshelf, one for each of my children.

Lovely. You always brighten my day. I’ll think of your bluebird when I look at Spring’s blue sky today.

I have a small blue crackled glass vase that sits next me in the office on the window sill. It’s just about the same blue as your bird and I never tire of looking at it. There’s something about that color.

Love it. I have a stained glass piece that my sister helped me create during a visit home one year. I have it hanging in my studio window and love it when the light catches it. Always makes me think of her.
