My favorite flower is the Oxblood Lily. A woman who lived in our house before us planted them all over our backyard. They appear in late August and don’t last long. The blood red color matches the desperate feeling of the heat in August. The flower is strong, red, and powerful.

Pansies are my favorite flower. Simple, sweet and easy to care for. Best of all, they bloom (almost) all winter long here in NC! Our first visit here before we moved from NJ was in February on Valentine’s Day weekend. There were pansies blooming all over and I knew we should live here.

Gorgeous earrings too.
It is really hard to pick just one favorite flower… but right now I’d say lupines are right up there.
Unfortunately, I have little luck growing them as our resident woodchuck loves them too.
